> Fifth, 'non-retrogression of cutting off all doubts': 'constantly praised by the buddhas.' 'By' (為) means caused, or passive agent. Because the bodhisattvas from the eighth ground and above reach the stage of cutting off doubts regarding principle and phenomena completely, both afflictive and cognitive doubts being exhausted, therefore the eighth ground is called the Ground of Certainty, and they are constantly praised by the buddhas. Alternatively, it is because through the Buddha's praise, the doubts of the multitude can be cut off: the multitude doubts in what stage the bodhisattvas abide and what they have realized; here, by revealing their superior stage and what they have realized, the doubts of the multitude are eliminated.
