> "Unexcelled Tamer of Persons": the older translation says "Unexcelled Person, Tamer of Persons." Because his wisdom is peerless, there is nothing surpassing him; thus he is called "unexcelled." In the present life, the Buddha's body is endowed with the primary and secondary marks, making him a great person; furthermore, because he is the utmost foremost in taming boundless persons in large measure, and because he is supremely eminent, this is explained according to the latter \[reading\]. The older translation says "Unexcelled Person, Tamer of Persons."
