> In the human destiny, they mostly suffer these pains: the pain of innate hunger, thirst, and deprivation due to poverty from youth; the pain of deprivation when desires are unfulfilled; the pain of deprivation regarding coarse food and drink; the pain of deprivation in desperately seeking and acquiring possessions, being in a base position under others, being oppressed by masters, and the like; the pain of deprivation when the seasons change between cold and heat; and the pain of deprivation when activities are halted due to obstacles such as darkness. Furthermore, they endure the sufferings of deterioration: old age, sickness, and death. Because in the narakas and other \[lower realms\] death is regarded as a relief, it is not posited as a suffering in those destinies.
