### [8.45](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1723.8.45)

> The Eulogy says: Sentient beings obtain benefit. The first verse concerns the first assembly, the next verse concerns the second assembly, and the last verse concerns the third and fourth assemblies. Gai (姟) is pronounced as the fanqie gu-ai; it is a number. The Fengsu Tong states: 'Ten thousand is called a wan; a hundred wan is called an yi; ten yi is called a zhao; ten zhao is called a jing; ten jing is called a gai.' It is indeed a great number, namely the six hundred ten-thousand-nayutas mentioned in the earlier prose. Nayuta means gai.
