> Second, under "Next, in terms of," \[which treats\] the milk curds, there are two parts: first, the Great Master clarifies the lacking and complete; second, under "Why?," he clarifies the reasons for the lacking and complete. In the first, he directly clarifies the lacking and complete. The term "teachings of the two vehicles" means that because the bodhisattvas of the Tripiṭaka \[Teaching\] share the same fruit as the two vehicles, just as in the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra the Āgamas are broadly designated as the śrāvaka sūtras. This teaching does not discuss the truth of marvelous existence; therefore, body and wisdom having been extinguished, they cannot initiate responses. Since there are neither true nor responsive \[bodies\], how could there be the medicine and jewel \[bodies\] and so forth?
