> Third, under "Next, discussing...", he clarifies the provisional and the real. Biased truth is the provisional; the Middle Way is the real. In the former two teachings, the sixteen gates comprising what expresses and what contemplates all have as what is expressed and what is realized merely biased truth; hence, they are entirely provisional. In the teaching method of the Separate Teaching, because what expresses and what contemplates are both sequential, they are provisional; yet because the principle expressed and the stage realized are identical with the Perfect, they are real. In the teaching and contemplation of the Perfect Teaching, what expresses and what is expressed, what practices and what is attained, are from beginning to end wholly perfect; hence, they are entirely real.
