> Next, explaining being delivered by the body of a śrāvaka: he may act as a śrāvaka of the Tripiṭaka Teaching, or a śrāvaka of the Shared Teaching, or turn in accordance with the five flavors; the śrāvaka internally conceals \[his real attainments\] and externally displays adornments, with four witherings and four blossomings, guiding sentient beings. Next, citing the various bodhisattva-bhikṣus in the Huayan jing who, entering the dharma realm, are seen to abide in inconceivable dharma gates accomplishes this meaning. Next, citing the four kinds of contemplation of the twelve links of dependent origination in the Great Sūtra, the fundamental compassion of the Separate and Perfect teachings neither grasps nor rejects; now he acts as the four kinds of sages to respond universally to all.
