> Third, the main theme. Distinguishing it in terms of the assembly, there are two: first, in terms of persons; second, in terms of dharmas. Persons comprise the master of conversion and the assistants to conversion, each having substance, virtue, and function, but limited to this assembly. Second, in terms of dharmas: namely, the dharmas of the ten understandings, which will be explained later. In terms of the chapter's main theme: if based on the manifestation of the place and the offerings at the time of benefiting others, this reveals the conditions for the Dharma; if in terms of the time of self-benefit, this is the mutual resonance between capacity and response, where the substance and function of capacity and conditions are accomplished.
