> Third is the meaning of both coexisting without obstruction: in every case of a single condition, it must possess the previous two for dependent origination to be established, because it is only by abiding in its own oneness that it can pervade and correspond, and it is only by pervading and corresponding to many conditions that it is a oneness. Therefore, the solely-one and the multiply-one are unfettered and unobstructed. From this fusion there are six propositions: either its whole substance fully abides, which is solely-one; or its whole substance pervades and corresponds, which is multiply-one; or both coexist; or both are obliterated; or all are combined; or all are completely separated. All of these can be understood by thinking them through. The above three gates generally clarify the fundamental dharmas of dependent origination.
