> Third, from 'When the bodhisattva practices in this way' downward clarifies excellence in teaching and transforming sentient beings. Herein, the first line generally explains gathering sentient beings. Second, by means of the physical body and so forth, it specifically clarifies working together to respond to capacities. Third, by preaching the Dharma to sever doubts, it specifically reveals affectionate speech. Below specifically clarifies gathering sentient beings through beneficial action. Fourth, for sentient beings who lack upāya regarding bodhi and do not understand the path traversed by bodhisattvas, deeds of practice are demonstrated to cause them to understand and cultivate practice. Fifth, although understanding cultivation, they are exhausted and do not advance; therefore, the great beneficial matters of the Buddha's fruition are demonstrated to encourage and advance them. These two transform Mahāyāna sentient beings. Sixth, for sentient beings who seek desires and seek existence, the faults and perils of the world are demonstrated to make them take no pleasure in it. The next two lines transform sentient beings seeking pure conduct (brahmacarya). Seventh, for Small Vehicle practitioners seeking correct pure conduct who do not believe in the Mahāyāna, the Buddha's great wisdom is demonstrated to broadly benefit sentient beings. Eighth, for non-Buddhist sentient beings with ignorant, heterodox pure conduct, supernormal powers are displayed through bodily karma, and the path is taught through verbal karma, causing them to abandon the heterodox and enter the correct. Ninth, the general conclusion. The accomplishment of practice has four lines: 1. Causes, conditions, and upāya concludes the gathering of sentient beings through the previous four embracements; 2. the mind being constantly on the Buddha is because one seeks the Buddha's superior power in order to transform sentient beings; 3. not losing roots of goodness means that the merit and wisdom attained never regress; 4. furthermore, constantly seeking and so forth means diligently cultivating practice desiring to make what one cultivates ever more superior.
