Third, fourteen verses contain the praises and requests by the deva maidens, within which the first verse and a half produce sound to praise the Buddha; the next three verses and a half praise the bodhisattvas' practice and offerings; the next eight verses and a half praise the transformation and gathering of beings through the three wheels of the Buddhas and bodhisattvas—the first being the merit of physical karma; the next five being the merit of verbal karma, meaning manifesting sounds from soundlessness and expounding the distinct teachings of the three vehicles and one vehicle, precisely because this bhūmi is the rank of a Dharma master where the characteristics of preaching the Dharma are augmented; the next two being the merit of mental karma, which can be known through its manifestation like an illusion.
