- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [18.26](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1733.18.26)

> Third, concerning the number of assembly leaders, there are two levels: 1. If speaking solely of persons, there are fifty-four persons, meaning that among the fifty-five assemblies, four assemblies have only one person, namely Mañjuśrī; furthermore, two assemblies each have two persons, namely Sarvagāmin and Śilpābhijña, together with the boy and girl. Therefore, while there are fifty-five assemblies, there are fifty-four leaders. 2. If identifying persons through the assemblies, there are fifty-seven persons, meaning that in two places among the fifty-five assemblies, one \[person\] is added to each, namely Sarvagāmin and so forth, as can be known.
