> In the fifth, Practice Free from Delusion and Confusion, first, in presenting the Dharma and exhorting practice: the city named Lion Multistoried Pavilion: ten virtues arise layer upon layer, resembling a multistoried pavilion. Heroic figures among Buddhas and bodhisattvas dwell in that stage, hence “lion.” This residence is in that city, and the city takes its name from the residence, hence it is named so. The elder Dharmaratnacūḍa: cūḍa is translated here as topknot; thus one is perfected through the Dharma, with the jewel as the topknot. The Indic text says there is an elder of Dharma named Ratnacūḍa. This reveals the precious and supremely honorable appearance of his samādhi function.
