- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.28](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1735.1.28)

> Ninth, relying on the requester. In terms of profound benevolence and compassion, there is also speaking without being asked; in terms of revering the Dharma and respecting persons, it is necessary to preach only after a sincere request. Those with beginner minds have obscure understanding and do not know how to inquire; those of superior wisdom, out of compassion, voice doubts and initiate the request. There are two kinds: 1. verbal requests, 2. mental requests. Their presence or absence in the various assemblies will be analyzed in the 'Chapter on the Manifestation of Signs'.
