- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [20.23](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1735.20.23)

> In the eighth, vows, there are also ten vows: the first five and the last three have the word 'exhausting' at the beginning; six, the body constantly dwelling, exhausting the sea of kalpas; seven, wisdom exhausting the sea of minds; eight, thoroughly exhausting the branches of existence; nine, exhaustively manifesting buddha-lands; ten, thoroughly exhausting the wisdom of the Buddha's fruit. This seeks bodhi; the former nine are benefit and bliss. If based on the three vows: two, three, four, and five are vows for one's own practice; six and seven are for spiritual superknowledges; the first and eight and nine are for external transformation; ten extends to both benefits. That all say 'exhausting' is because of thoroughly reaching their source.
