> Second, the above clarified merit; this discerns wisdom. Awakening to this wisdom that dispels darkness and is difficult to encounter, he is therefore named Matīkara (Forest of Wisdom). In the verses praising this, the ten stanzas are divided into three parts: the first clarifies that the Buddha is difficult to encounter; the next six specifically explain why he is difficult to encounter, within which are also three: the first two show he is difficult to encounter because the benefit is vast; the next one shows he is difficult to encounter because the cause is complete; the latter three show he is difficult to encounter because the fruit is profound; the third part has three verses that weigh and compare to reveal supremacy, within which the first compares through great practice over a long time, the next compares through making offerings to buddhas over a long time, and the latter compares through making offerings of supreme items to buddhas.
