The text is divided into three sections: first, the section of praise and request; second, the section of the direct teaching; third, the section of the reiterative verses (geya). As for the first, the five verses are divided into two: the first three celebrate hearing \[the teaching of\] the first ground; the latter two request the explanation of the second ground. In the first part, the first two \[verses\] contain the sūtra compiler's narrative of the celebration and joy of their three karmas; the last one gives voice to praise. However, this rejoicing at hearing \[the teaching\] also pertains to the preceding ground; yet because it receives what came before and requests what follows, it is entirely judged as belonging to the latter.
