> In the eighth samādhi, the Different Bodies of All Sentient Beings Samādhi, the explanation divides into five: (1) explaining the wisdom capable of entering; (2) demonstrating the marks of entering and emerging; (3) explaining the benefits of entering the samādhi; (4) explaining sovereignty over cognitive realms; (5) generally concluding with ultimate realization. Now for the first: because one attains ten kinds of non-attachment, one accomplishes subsequent sovereignty in entering and emerging. "All stages" refers to the Buddha stage, the bodhisattva stages, and so forth. In the second, the marks of entering and emerging, there are two: first, introducing the inquiry; next, explaining the marks. Therein, first is the Dharma, and next the analogies. In the Dharma, ten categories are briefly discerned to express the inexhaustible: (1) discerning entering and emerging in the opposition between the direct retributions of various classes \[of beings\]; (2) from "entering among the devas..." onward, entering and emerging in terms of the dependent retributions of the six destinies; (3) from "entering with a thousand bodies..." onward, the opposition between the one and the many; (4) from "Jambudvīpa..." onward, the opposition between the four continents and the great oceans; (5) from "all ocean spirits..." onward, the opposition between primary elements and phenomenal dharmas, where the unproduced dharmas are brought along naturally upon the arising of the four great primary elements; (6) from "all wondrous fragrant flowers..." onward, the opposition between the various directions; (7) from "all four-continent worlds..." onward, the opposition between the fewness and manyness of numbers of assemblies; (8) from "entering among assemblies of ineffable-ineffable sentient beings..." onward, the opposition between defilement and purity; (9) from "eye-base..." onward, the opposition between the various realms (dhātus); (10) from "a single paramāṇu..." onward, a miscellaneous explanation of the opposition between various classes: coarse and subtle, ordinary and noble, thoughts and eons, true and false, and so forth. Their meanings of entering and emerging are as in the "Bhadraśrī Chapter". Second, in demonstrating through analogies, there are four analogies, each having a Dharma application to analogize the previous ten categories: First, the analogy of a spirit possessing a person, analogizing the first and fourth, because it largely relates to bodies; second, the analogy of incantations raising a corpse, analogizing the second, fifth, and sixth, because it largely relates to the sphere of dependent retribution; third, the analogy of an arhat displaying spiritual penetrations, analogizing the third and seventh, because it largely relates to numbers; fourth, the analogy of the earth being one while the sprouts are many, analogizing the latter three gates because they explain various miscellaneous things. As the analogies and applications mirror each other, the text and principle become clear of themselves.
