> Second, 'great rejoicement' properly discerns the meaning of the practice of joy. In that \[other context\], one merely rejoices doubly upon seeing a petitioner come; here, one knows that through giving one sees Buddhas, makes offerings to Buddhas, and so forth, and the mind is greatly joyful, because the first practice is largely identical to the stage of joy (\*pramuditā-bhūmi\*). Within the ten, they are briefly arranged into five pairs: 1. The pair of serving Buddhas and offering to Buddhas; 2. The pair of hearing the Dharma and associating with the good; 3. The pair of accomplishing the practice of dual benefit; 4. The pair of adorning lands and transforming beings; 5. The pair of being able to see what is difficult to see and being able to accomplish what is difficult to accomplish. The textual marks are very clear.
