> Second, from "Having seen him..." onward, seeing, paying respects, and inquiring, in which there are three parts: first, explaining seeing and paying respects. Celebrating himself is because of many years of hope. Second, in personally setting forth the arousal of bodhicitta from "O Noble One, I have already..." onward, first general, and afterwards, from "in order to desire..." onward, specifically setting forth the aspects of the arousal of the mind. In that, there are three: first, desiring to ascend to the utmost limit of the Buddha-realm; second, from "in order to desire to hear all..." onward, desiring to exhaust the source of the Dharma; third, from "in order to desire to equal all..." onward, desiring to match the practices of bodhisattvas, which is also the realm of the Saṅgha jewel. The text can all be understood. Third, from "O Noble One, I now..." onward, he only then sets forth his formal inquiry. In that, there are also three: first, concluding the preceding to introduce the following, meaning concluding the aspects of the arousal of the mind, which then serves as the starting point for the inquiry, hence it says "with such a mind I have come to the Noble One's place"; second, from "I have heard that the Noble One..." onward, praising his ability to guide and instruct; third, from "I only pray that the Noble One..." onward, requesting him to explain what is doubted.
