- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [57.31](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1735.57.31)

> Second, from "Only after that did he attain..." onward, within seeing, paying reverence, and inquiring: first he sees the dependent and direct \[retributions\]. Surrounded all around by hundreds of thousands of villages represents retinue-prajñā. The ramparts and battlements being lofty and steep represents prajñā warding off faults, being high and unsurpassed. Five planks make a du (wall-section), and five du make a zhi (rampart-unit). Die means parapets. The thoroughfares being wide and level represents that prajñā is that which all Buddhas constantly tread, not an expedient path, and hence is vast and shoreless.
