> Eighth is King Mahāprabha, corresponding to the Practice of Difficult Attainment. Under the first, 'Proceeding to Seek in Accordance with the Teaching,' first \[Sudhana\] reflects on the previous \[spiritual friend\], and second, from 'gradually' onward, he proceeds to the next. Therein, first, he inquires and seeks, thereby coming to know \[the King\]. That the city is named Prabhāśrī (Wondrous Light) is because while in the previous station compassion increased, here he attains non-abiding wondrous wisdom to transport sentient beings. That the king is named Mahāprabha (Great Light) is because the wisdom of his samādhi of benevolence (maitrī) encompasses all, penetrating and illuminating all within his vast vows. Later, from 'Then the youth Sudhana' onward, he rejoices in his prospective benefit.
