> Regarding the commentary from "How much more so in the Avataṃsaka" downwards: third is bringing out the One Vehicle by comparison. Above, extending across the two teachings—internal and external—of the Three Vehicles, this principle exists in all of them. How much more so in the perfect teaching of the One Vehicle of the \*Avataṃsaka\*, where what dharma is not a teaching? Within this there are four clauses: First, clarifying that things and phenomena preach the Dharma. "Cloud towers and jeweled nets" refers to the \*Daśabhūmika-sūtra\*: "At that time, the World-Honoured One emitted a pure light from between his eyebrows \[...\] illuminating this Sahā world, the Buddha, the great assembly, and the body and lion throne of Vajragarbha Bodhisattva, forming a great cloud net tower of light in the sky above. At that time, from within the tower of light, by the supernatural power of the Buddhas, a verse was spoken: 'The Buddha is peerless like space, / Possessing the ten powers and immeasurable supreme virtues; / Supreme among humans, highest in the world, / The Dharma of the Śākya Lion is bestowed upon him...'" and so on; this is the text. Furthermore, "jeweled nets" refers to the first fascicle: "His lion throne had mani jewels as its pedestal and lotuses as its net." Later it states: "Furthermore, sustained by the majestic power of all Buddhas, it expounds the vast realm of the Tathāgata." This is also its text. Furthermore, regarding "clouds": at the beginning of the sixth fascicle, from clouds of all offering utensils, sounds naturally emerge to preach the Dharma, and so forth.
