- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [18.35](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.18.35)

> Regarding the Commentary's statement, "First, the ultimate and conventional mutually vanishing, discerning the middle through double negation": the conventional is identical with the ultimate, hence not conventional. The ultimate is identical with the conventional, hence not ultimate. Neither ultimate nor conventional is precisely the middle way. Thus the three times are identical with equality, hence not the three times; equality is identical with the three times, hence not equality; this is the falling away of both.
