- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [18.47](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.18.47)

> From the commentary's "these are all completely pervasive" downward: this individually demonstrates the characteristic of pervasiveness. The three bodies are all as explained below, hence it says "these are all." Regarding "these are all completely pervasive": whether large or small, they are all complete. Regarding "not a fractional pervasiveness": it is not that they are analyzed and scattered to make them pervasive. From "meaning all" downward: this demonstrates the characteristic of complete pervasiveness. Even a fine dust mote is also complete; coarse \[things\] can be readily understood. Regarding "viewed collectively, it also appears": throughout the entire dharmadhātu there is only one Buddha, because the Buddha's body fills the dharmadhātu. Regarding "viewed individually, it also appears": then facing each and every land and each and every dust mote, the whole body is seen in all of them. Hence the sūtra below says, "Just as one sees the Buddha sitting at this place, / In all dust motes it is also like this; / The Buddha's body neither departs nor arrives, / Clearly appearing in all lands"—this is it. Furthermore, regarding viewing collectively and individually: collectively, the single body is present everywhere; individually, the parts and limbs—eyes, ears, nose, and so forth—each pervade the dharmadhātu. Hence the "Manifestation of Characteristics" chapter states: "How could the Buddha's eyes have any measure? / The ears, nose, tongue, and body are also like this," and so forth.
