> Regarding the commentary's "The accomplishment of action cognition adaptively perfects without omission, which is the meaning of conforming entry": the treatise says: "Fourth, the mental factor complex associated with the accomplishment of action cognition refers to this mental factor complex, for the sake of benefiting and gladdening all sentient beings, universally displaying throughout the ten directions the various transformed three karmas to accomplish the tasks that ought to be performed through the power of original vows."\nExegesis: Since it says that through various three karmas it accomplishes the tasks to be performed, how could this not be adaptively perfecting without omitting any thing? These words are taken from the 'Xici' of the \*Zhouyi\*, which says: "It encompasses the transformations of heaven and earth without exceeding them; it adaptively perfects all things without omission." The commentary says: "'Encompasses' means modeling after heaven and earth so that their principles are fully complete. 'Adaptively perfects' means riding on changes to respond to things without being tied to a single direction, so that things appropriately attain their proper places." This speaks of the virtue of the \*Changes\*, but is here borrowed to illustrate the virtue of the Buddha.\nThe \*Vijñaptimātratā\[-siddhi\]\* concludes: "Although the mental factor complexes associated with these four cognitions each definitively possess twenty-two dharmas, and the transforming and transformed, seeds and actualizations, arise together, because the cognitive function is predominant, they are designated by the name 'cognition'; therefore, these four categories completely encompass all conditioned virtues of the Buddha-ground without remainder." Reconciling the doctrines of the two traditions has already been explained above.
