> Regarding the commentary's statement, "Because unarisenness is the essence of the Buddha's teaching": all sūtras and treatises explain the principle of unarisenness. Therefore, the \*Vimalakīrti-nirdeśa\* explains it from the very beginning of the Non-duality \[chapter\], the \*Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra\* states that all things are unarisen, and the \*Madhyamakaśāstra\* takes unarisenness as the central doctrine and essence of the treatise. Mahāsattva Fu also said: "The Buddha-Dharma takes unarisenness as its essence and non-attachment as its central doctrine; forgetting thoughts is the cause, and nirvāṇa is the fruit." The texts \[stating this\] are not one.
