> Regarding the Commentary's 'The third and fourth are the causes of the two kinds of other-enjoyment lands': Briefly as cited above from the text of the Cheng weishi lun. The Cheng weishi lun explains the cause solely in terms of the Buddha; here it extends to bodhisattvas, meaning that the Buddha's cultivation of these two causes in the causal stage accomplishes other-enjoyment, which is the Buddha's cause; and bodhisattvas abiding on the grounds cultivating these two causes attain other-enjoyment, which is explained in terms of the bodhisattvas' cause. The first ground and eighth ground are extensively explained in the Sūtra on the Grounds (Daśabhūmika-sūtra).
