- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [26.5](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.26.5)

> Regarding the Commentary's 'If it is the dharmatā, it is the root consciousness' and so forth: This is explained in terms of the tathāgatagarbha conforming to conditions to establish the various pure and defiled lands, just as the 'Samādhi Chapter' quotes the Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra as saying. This follows their common characteristic, being restricted neither to sentient beings nor to the Buddha. If one speaks of 'naturally so' (dharmatā-yukti), this is the principle of things being naturally so, as explained in the 'Ten Grounds'; hence the Commentary reconciles the two texts, and the principle may be seen.
