> Regarding the commentary's statement, "The ninth manifests realization; only one who has realization can preach": this is the fourth, stating the reasons for the four propositions. As for the first—preaching after concentration—since it is extensively explained in various assemblies, it is not interpreted here. It only explains the latter three: first it explains the third, second the seventh, and from "In order to manifest..." downward it explains the fourth. In the fourth, there are two assemblies that do not enter concentration: the second does not enter, which was already explained earlier, so it only explains the seventh. Third, from "Entering after preaching..." downward resolves the second meaning. Entering is cultivation; the citation of the Innumerable Meanings Sūtra above was a specific meaning, yet there is the word "etc.," which includes the general meaning of this sūtra and the general meaning of various sūtras, now showing the general meaning. Commentary: From "Therefore we know..." downward is the fifth, concluding with its profound mystery. Thus in the text below, it demonstrates the characteristics of the ten faiths: since the faith expounded possesses sovereignty over concentration and distraction, we clearly know that the speaker's entering and emerging are inconceivable. From "Crowning with the hand in other assemblies..." downward, it further displays different approaches so that there is no rigid clinging.
