> Regarding the Commentary's stating, "Furthermore, the ten Buddhas viewing one another," and so forth: this comprehensively employs the perfect interpenetration of the six characteristics. Mañjuśrī represents the universal: if taken in terms of Dharma approaches, Mañjuśrī presides over prajñā and comprehensively subsumes the myriad practices; the virtues of the nine Chiefs are all prajñā. In accordance with conditions, there are particular characteristics. Jointly illuminating the Buddha's virtues is the characteristic of sameness. Conditioned arising and teaching/transformation not mutually subsuming each other is the characteristic of difference. Unifying the ten profundities to accomplish the Buddha's realm is the characteristic of formation. Each abiding in a single profundity is the characteristic of disintegration. The rest is as explained below. If taken in terms of persons as universal and particular: Mañjuśrī is the foremost leader, hence called the universal; the other nine are companions, which is the characteristic of particularity. In their sameness, they are identically named "Chief" (Śīrṣa); in their difference, Bhadra, Jñāna, and so on are distinct, together forming the ten Chiefs to represent persons of faith; in disintegration, each abides in himself.
