> The commentary from "I am myself the dharmatā, so what further is there to realize or enter?" downward explains the equality stated above as being free of subject and object, and hence called non-abiding. However, there are two meanings: First, the two lines above clarify that because the single nature is undivided, there is no subject or object, just as a single finger cannot touch itself. Second, as for "the dharmatā lacks nature, so what further is there to enter?": this clarifies that because nature is empty, there is no subject or object of entry, just as empty space does not abide in empty space. This is also the meaning of the "Mañjuśrī Section" of the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-sūtra. That sūtra says: "The Buddha addressed Mañjuśrī: 'Do you not seek after the Buddha Dharma?' Mañjuśrī said: 'World-Honoured One! I currently do not see any dharma that is not the Buddha Dharma; what would I seek after?'" Explanation: This is the meaning of the single nature. Next, the Buddha asked: "Have you already accomplished the Buddha Dharma?" Mañjuśrī replied: "I do not see any dharma at all that can be named the Buddha Dharma; what would I accomplish?" Explanation: This is the meaning of the emptiness of nature. Next, the Buddha again said: "Do you not attain the unattached nature?" Mañjuśrī replied: "I am myself unattached; could the unattached nature again attain non-attachment?" Explanation: This is just what the present commentary calls "I am myself the dharmatā, so what further is there to realize or enter?"
