It first explains "knowledge" (ming) and then explains "conduct" (xing). In the former, it first cites the sūtra. That text has four explanations, and here it corresponds to the fourth, which explains "knowledge" in terms of cultivating practice and realizing entry—that is, the essence of realization and entry. Later, "However, they are all merely distinctions between cause and fruit, or principle and wisdom, within prajñā" is the Commentary's explanation of the sūtra. The bodhisattva's "knowledge" is the realizing wisdom in the causal stage. The Buddha's "knowledge" is the realizing wisdom in the fruition stage. Both of the above are wisdom. The "knowledge of ignorance" is the principle that is realized. Wisdom is contemplation, and principle is the true characteristic.
