疏「由無方有」下，上辯不相乖，今明相成。然事理相望，略有三義：一相違義、二不相礙義、三相作義。今用後二，其第一義是問家所用。

> Regarding the commentary’s text from “By relying on non-existence there is existence” downward: above it discriminated non-contradiction, and now it clarifies mutual completion. Now, when phenomena and principle are considered with respect to each other, there are roughly three meanings: first, the meaning of mutual contradiction; second, the meaning of mutual non-obstruction; third, the meaning of mutual creation. Here the latter two are employed; the first meaning is that used by the questioner.
