- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [32.42](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.32.42)

疏「本有二義」者，釋本無生。由於法性有其不變隨緣義故，令本亦二，本即是性、末即是相。前不變本與末不即，後隨緣本與末不離，不即不離融無障礙為真本也。

> Regarding the Commentary's '"Originally" has two meanings': this explains 'originally non-arisen.' Because the dharmatā has the meanings of being unchanging and according with conditions, it makes 'origin' also twofold: the root is the nature, and the branch is the characteristic. The former unchanging root is not identical with the branch; the latter root that accords with conditions is not separate from the branch. Neither identical nor separate, perfectly fusing without obstruction, is the true origin.
