- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [37.21](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.37.21)

> Regarding the Commentary's 'Only one who forgets words can fathom this purport': seeing and not seeing both apply to bondage and liberation; how could one follow along with the words 'seeing' and 'not seeing'? One must grasp the underlying meaning of seeing and so on: if it says that through seeing one is bound, one knows it is an attached view; if it says that through seeing one attains liberation, one must know it is non-conceptual seeing. Therefore Master Shi said: 'Only one who forgets words can unite with the Way; one with an empty mind can penetrate the principle; one with a quiescent mind can become one with the true; one who abandons intellect can become identical with the sage.'
