Thoroughly penetrating saṃsāra and nirvāṇa possesses both fruits. Because one has great compassion, one thoroughly penetrates saṃsāra; because one has great wisdom, one thoroughly penetrates nirvāṇa. Furthermore, saving oneself and so on is the fruit of wisdom, while causing others to attain salvation is the fruit of compassion.
