> The commentary's "Third, cessation through analytical deliberation" (shuyuán miè): from "Hence the Tang Tripiṭaka \[Master\]..." below, it presents its alternative name. When it says "It refers to what is attained by the power of deliberation," this is the explanation of the Abhidharmakośa-śāstra. Hence its analogy states: "Just as a cart drawn by oxen is called an ox-cart, by omitting the intermediate words it is spoken of in this way, simply called cessation through deliberation." The Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi explains: "By the power of discernment and deliberation, one extinguishes all defilements and ultimately realizes and encounters it; hence it is called cessation through deliberation."
