That sūtra says: "Because it extinguishes the defilements, disasters, entwining afflictions, and impurities of the kleśas." The treatise says: "This means that herein one is far removed from all kleśas, entwining afflictions, and impurities; thus the various kleśas constitute the entwining afflictions and impurities. In this way, they are called the causes of all disasters; since the kleśas, entwining afflictions, and impurities do not exist herein, the disasters caused by them also do not exist herein." Commentary: Freedom from these kleśas and so forth is what is called gathered benefit. Furthermore, currently realizing liberation, the superior merit and wisdom free from kleśas, disasters, entwining afflictions, and impurities is therefore called gathered benefit.
