After giving a general explanation of the four kinds of speech, the treatise states that there is speech spoken to one's face and speech not to one's face, vile speech and constant practice. The explanation states: "Constant practice" is used to explain "uninterrupted." It also explains again: "Among them, speech spoken in one's presence is coarse and uninterrupted; speech not in one's presence is subtle and uninterrupted." The intent is: spoken to the face is coarse, not to the face is subtle, and uninterrupted applies to both.
