> Fifth, the Buddha's goodness. Regarding the Commentary's phrase: "The preceding three belong to the Buddha": this reveals the Buddha's virtues, explaining solely the portal of contemplation. The latter one, emulating \[the Buddha\], then has two meanings: first, in terms of the virtues sought, emulating \[the Buddha\] on the second ground is precisely the portal of practice; second, it reveals the pre-eminence of the Buddha-dharma, which is also the portal of contemplation. Among the four: first, in contrast to worldlings, it displays purity; second, in contrast to the lesser \[vehicle\], it displays relinquishment; third, by universally contemplating all bodhisattvas, it explains upāya; fourth, by contrasting oneself with the Buddha, it explains seeking.
