- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [63.126](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.63.126)

> Regarding the commentary's phrase, "merely performing deeds that do not harm sentient beings": the 'Chapter on Xianshou' states: "If one sees a world beginning to form, / And sentient beings lack the requisites of life, / At that time the bodhisattva becomes a craftsman, / Manifesting diverse trades for their sake. / Not engaging in things that torment sentient beings, / But only performing deeds that benefit the world." This is its meaning. However, the treatise merely says: "Because among distinct obstacles there is no obstacle," while the rest is as explained in the commentary. In the commentary's phrase, "third, generating purity," the treatise sūtra says: "coming forth out of pity for sentient beings"; "coming forth" is simply the present sūtra's "completely revealing and demonstrating."
