> Regarding the commentary's phrase "synthesising the seven factors of awakening" and so on: the third \[section\] integrates and subsumes them, which is the intention of the Yogācārabhūmi. Within this there are two parts: first, directly subsuming them. "Mindfulness pervades samādhi and prajñā" because it operates universally in samādhi and prajñā. The four bases of mindfulness are prajñā, yet they must have mindfulness. The bases of psychic power are samādhi; for the mind to be settled it must have mindfulness, only then guarding the object. Next, from "although they are the prior three" onward, he resolves an objection. That is, someone asks: "Since they are the prior three, why are they stated again here?" Because of intensification they are termed 'factors of awakening'.
