As for the \*\[Mahāyāna-sūtrā-\]alaṃkāra\[-śāstra\]\*, it is fascicle 13. Its verse says: "Because retrogressions are of two kinds, and one can overcome retrogression, it is called 'Difficult to Overcome' (Sudurjayā)." What is now cited in the Commentary is the commentary to that treatise. As for the \*Prakaraṇāryavācā\[-śāstra\]\*, it corresponds to fascicle 13; this merely cites the passage concerning the present stage. The text prior to this in that treatise says: "The fifth, the stage Difficult to Overcome, means that when bodhisattvas abide in this stage, having previously well cultivated and purified the fourth stage, they surpass all stages of śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas." From "realising and attaining" onward, the wording of the Commentary is completely identical. However, some say: "the subtle and wondrous wisdom-aggregate of all dharmas." Here, the two characters are omitted, because the meaning is already complete.
