Depending on this seed of craving, grasping arises, and grasping is an active manifestation. Therefore, the sūtra says that the increase of craving becomes grasping; and below, when harmonizing with the four conditions, where craving has a causal condition (hetu-pratyaya) toward grasping, it is because the seed of craving increases to form grasping, grasping being the active manifestation of the seed of craving. Hence, they are the same greed: the initial mind is craving, and its intensification is called grasping.
