> Regarding the Commentary's line, "Fourth, because of assembling in the assemblies of the Great Dharma, one initiates the practice of purifying buddha-lands for the sake of beings": this clarifies cultivating the cause in view of the benefit. In the pure land the noble and worthy assemble; all superior good persons gather together in one place, sharing the same aspiration and practice with the bodhisattvas, free from resentment and jealousy, causing beings to cultivate causes so that they will obtain the pure land. This is because human jewels are the adornment and assemble there. Regarding the Commentary's line, "Causing five blessings to arise," and so forth: seeing pertains solely to the eye; hearing pertains only to the ear; drawing near pertains to the body; making offerings by relinquishing wealth and practicing apply to all three karmic actions. Regarding the statement, "Because one's own body is without body, identical to the Buddha's dharmakāya": the Buddha takes the Dharma as his body, pure like empty space; the forms of various colors that he manifests cause \[beings\] to enter into this Dharma. Now the bodhisattva also manifests a body while having no body; from ascending the grounds upward, one partially realizes the dharmakāya, being identical to the Buddha's body. Regarding the Commentary's line, "The two below are also like this": this generally draws a parallel with speech and mind being identical to the body; all initiate function directly from essence, manifesting speech without speech, and knowing without knowing. All are as in the sūtra text.
