- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [70.52](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.70.52)

> Regarding the commentary's "The treatise says, 'having already received fruit'" etc.: this line clarifies the speed of karma obtaining retribution. Saying that "karma of retribution in the next life from the past has now already been received" explains it provisionally in terms of a single aspect that is proximate. If received in the present life, it could also be karma performed prior to that, and thus could also be karma of subsequent retribution, called "already received." Thus, for karma of subsequent retribution, that which has been moistened has retribution, and that which has not been moistened has no retribution; it should also be called already matured and already received, or not yet matured and not yet received.
