- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [89.12](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.89.12)

疏「十沙（史我切）字」，別譯為「灑」字，《大品》、《放光》等皆為「沙」字。文中，先釋義；後「如海含像」者，會經，像之與水不相礙故。《智論》云「若聞沙字，即知人身六種相，以沙此言六故。」釋曰：以《大品》云「沙字門，諸法六自在，王性清淨故。即內六處為六自在王，心海湛然，不礙見聞覺知，猶如湛海不礙像故。」

> Regarding the commentary's "Ten: the syllable ṣa (pronounced shi + wo)": the alternate translation has the syllable ṣa, and the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā, Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-āloka, etc., all have the syllable ṣa. In the text, it first explains the meaning; afterwards, "like the ocean containing images" reconciles it with the sūtra, because images and water do not obstruct each other. The Dazhidulun says: "Hearing the syllable ṣa, one immediately knows the six kinds of marks of the human body, because here ṣa means six." Explanation: The Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā says, "In the door of the syllable ṣa, the six masteries of all phenomena—their king-nature is pure." That is, the internal six sense-bases are the six sovereign kings; the ocean of mind is serene and clear, not obstructing seeing, hearing, perceiving, and knowing, just as the clear ocean does not obstruct images.
