大方廣佛華嚴經隨疏演義鈔 89.38

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [89.38](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.89.38)

疏三十六「拏（嬭可切）字」，別譯為「儜」字。先釋義、後「謂以常觀」下會經。《智論》云「若聞拏字，即知一切法及眾生，不去不來、不生不滅、不坐不臥不立不起，眾生空、法空，以南天竺云拏此言不故。」釋曰：去等即是喧諍，無即是不上，二俱不可得，方為般若。

> In the commentary on the thirty-sixth \[syllable\], 'ṇa' (拏, pronounced nǎi-kě), another translation has the syllable 'ṇa' (儜). It first explains the meaning, and then from 'meaning that by constantly observing' downward correlates it with the sūtra. The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa states: 'If one hears the syllable ṇa, one immediately knows that all phenomena and sentient beings neither go nor come, are neither born nor extinguished, neither sit nor lie down, neither stand nor rise, being the emptiness of sentient beings and the emptiness of phenomena, because in South India ṇa means not.' The explanation says: Going and so forth are noisy dispute; non-existence is not rising—both are ungraspable, and only then is it wisdom (prajñā).
