大方廣佛華嚴經隨疏演義鈔 89.39

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [89.39](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1736.89.39)

疏三十七「娑（入聲）頗字」，別譯但云「頗」字。若會經者，化生究竟方為遍滿果報。《智論》云「若聞頗字，即知一切法因果皆空，以頗羅此言空故。」釋曰：因果俱空方為圓滿，亦不可得。

> In the commentary on the thirty-seventh \[syllable\], 'spha' (娑頗, entering tone), another translation simply says the syllable 'pha' (頗). If correlated with the sūtra, only when transformational rebirth is culminated does it become pervasive retribution. The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa states: 'If one hears the syllable pha, one immediately knows that the causes and effects of all phenomena are both empty, because phala (頗羅) here means fruit/empty.' The explanation says: Only when cause and effect are both empty is it perfection, and it is also ungraspable.
